Hi, I’m Jason, Founder of Sound Advice.

I created this platform to help professionals like you build the career and life you’ve always wanted.

Like you, I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I had to make myself into who I am today. My mom was a poor, single mother of two kids. I didn’t have any advantages in life. No money, no connections, and no time for education. Things were messy. No one gave me directions or instructions. I had to figure out on my own how to get out of the mess I inherited at birth.

All I had to cling to was an internal knowing that there was more to the world than what was immediately in front of me. And a drive to get there.

If I wanted to move up in the world, I had to figure out how.

So, I started with the place I knew best (where I didn’t need “credentials” or a degree): with people.

The only thing I know for sure in this world is that relationships matter. People matter.

Understanding the power of relationships was a key driver in my being able to elevate myself. If you understand what people are about, you can connect with them. And that gives you the ability to grow and foster a relationship. We all have the ability to connect with other people. It’s like a muscle. We’re all born with it, but if you don’t use and work it, it won’t grow.

Without help from my family or money or credentials, just that bit of wisdom guiding me, I managed to get myself through college, land many high paying jobs, start a business I love, find the woman of my dreams, and create the life I always wanted. The life I was searching for. The life I knew was out there. The life I knew I deserved.

You can create that life too.

You don’t have to settle. You don’t have to stay stuck in a career you don’t love and a life you were born with.

My mission is to help people. Sign up for my mailing list and I’ll teach you how to engineer your success, how to you rise above your circumstances, and how to get to where you want to be in this world even if you don’t have the advantages that many people have, like money, connections, and credentials.

Hi, I’m Nicole, Resident Career Coach for Sound Advice.

I joined Sound Advice to help professionals learn, build, and walk the career path that they want to and are meant to.

Like many, I came from humble means and worked many, long hours to put myself through school to earn both a honors and a masters degree. I spent many hours reflecting on what I wanted from my professional experience—and what I didn’t want—and in working those long hours at a job that I didn’t love, taught me how important it is to have meaning, purpose, and a mission within our professional lives, and that is how I found my own calling.

I live to be of service to those seeking a new route, a new opportunity, a new chance at their professional path. I am driven by helping others drive themselves to success. There is no greater joy to me than hearing a client I’ve worked with has reached, and exceeded, the bars they set for themselves.

For me, there is nothing more laden-value than strong connections, relationships, and interactions in our day-to-day lives. Knowing who matters may be important, but letting others know that they matter to you as a person, as a colleague, as a person who enriches your day-to-day experiences is integral to building meaning in our own lives.

Connection, growth, and change matter in our professional development but it is the people we meet, build meaning with, and who lead us to new and exciting experiences that truly matters.

It was great to meet you today! I have never known an hour and a half go by so fast! You are the best. The reason my resume is fabulous is because of you! Thanks so much for your help!
